Sajjad Hussain was enrolled in the Dislocated Worker Program through Rural Minnesota CEP, Inc., and was an active participant. He accessed the Workforce Center Resource Room numerous times a week for hours at a time; searching for job openings, researching companies, completing online job applications and sending resumes.

Sajjad has a deep commitment to learning and searched for services and activities that would increase his marketability. Sajjad enrolled in LearnKey to increase his Microsoft Office skills. In addition to investing time in LearnKey, he registered in KeyTrain and completed the NCRC Test with a Silver Award. He attended job fairs in a several hundred mile radius and upon interviewing with Viterra in Carrington, ND, he knew he had found an employer that would offer him a learning environment with opportunity to advance within the company. The employer shared that an applicant with a forklift certification would be highly considered for employment. Upon receiving approval for the training, Sajjad attended the Forklift Certification course through Forklifts of Minnesota and received his certification.

After additional job interviews with other companies, Viterra offered him employment and Sajjad relocated to start work. Appreciative of the assistance he received for training and relocating, Sajjad says ‘thank you’ for the support he received from Resource Room staff and Rural Minnesota CEP.
