Mitchell Lachelt (Legacy Power Line)

Mitchell Lachelt had been working for 8 years as the manager of a landscaping company when he was unexpectedly laid off. Mitch contacted the Brainerd office of Rural MN CEP to see if Electrical Lineworker training was a good occupation. He completed Career Assessment and researched the labor market outlook, finding it has a very bright outlook with 15% state growth. His training plan was approved and Mitch started the Lineworker Training Program at M-State Wadena. Mitch drove everyday over an hour to attend school for a year. In May of this year, he graduated and immediately started fielding job offers. Within 2 weeks of graduation, he signed on with Legacy Powerlines in Wadena working full time. His wage improved over $2 an hour from his landscaping position and he’s now in an occupation with stellar growth.Upon completion of his Journeyman licensure his wage will increase to nearly double his prior wage. When he brought in his official school Diploma, Mitch said he was so very thankful for everything that CEP did for him in reaching his goal.

Mitch sent in a picture of himself happily at work up in his bucket truck.
