SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT NATIONAL DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT AWARENESS MONTH TO HELP BUILD A MORE EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE WORKFORCE
12 Oct 2022
“Workplaces welcoming of the talents of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical part of our efforts to build an inclusive community and strong economy…” – Proclamation recognizing and commemorating the 77th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This year’s theme is “Disability: Part of the Equity Equation,” recognizing the crucial role people with disabilities play in a truly inclusive and diverse American workforce. Held annually, NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), but organizations of all sizes and in all industries are encouraged to participate. It’s the perfect time to educate about the value of an inclusive workplace while highlighting the barriers individuals from underrepresented groups often face.
