The Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) is a program designed for low-income families with children. The goal of this program is to assist families to become self-sufficient through work. This program requires those applying for cash assistance to participate in a program that helps individuals prepare for work, reducing their need for public assistance. The MFIP program helps families become economically stable through a combination of work, skills training, and supportive assistance.
