RMCEP Success Story: Habib Abu

Habib Abu, a husband, and father of 4 living in Moorhead, wanted to be a diesel mechanic. He came from Kenya with a high school education and worked in the United States as a driver until he decided it was time to begin his education. He came to RMCEP seeking funding in the Pathways to Prosperity grant to attain his associate degree at M-State in Moorhead.

So far, he has not only succeeded in all his classes, but he has made the President’s List also. This summer he is working as a mechanic and will return to school this fall to complete
his Diesel Equipment Technology degree.
