Monday, August 26, 2013

RMCEP, in partnership with Minnesota State Community & Technical College (M-State), just completed its first course in providing 160 hours of tailroed welding trianing to low-income workers.  This training is being conducted on location through a self-contained welding trailer.  It is specific to the needs of the individual or manufacturere which includes stick welding, MIG and TIG welding, oxygen-acetylene plasma cutting, and alumimum welding.  The course is designed to prepare the students to pass the American Welding Certification examination.  To additional cohorts are planned, one in the Little Falls area, and the other to be determined.  This innovative and needed training was provided though a grant by the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.  A local article can be accessed here
