Partners for Progress: Drive for Five
The goal of this program is to provide planning, training and experiential work opportunities that lead to a recognized credential (degree, diploma, or certificate) in one of the four key in-demand industry sectors: Caring Professions, Labor, Technology, and Manufacturing.
The end goal is further education or full-time employment in one of these occupations; supporting sustaining employment at or above $25/hr. for exiting participants through career services, training to targeted populations, and job placement/retention assistance.
Successful participants are also eligible to receive incentives for their progress in the program and finding full-time employment. All participants in the program will have the opportunity to participate in a work-based learning opportunity.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, not enrolled in any K-12 school, who need enhanced educational and support services to be successful in securing long-term family sustaining wages.
All participants enrolled must be authorized to work in the United States and must be part of one or more of the following target populations:
- Individuals of color
- Individuals lacking stable housing
- Individuals previously justice involved
- Individuals without a high school diploma or equivalent
- Individuals with disabilities
- Individuals who have been unemployed for 26 or more of the past 52 weeks
- Individuals with limited English proficiency
- Individuals at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline
- Individuals who do not fall within the above guidelines
The Partners for Progress project will prioritize individuals of color, those lacking stable housing, past criminal record, high school dropouts, without a GED, and individuals with disabilities.
